The Simmchen Group at University of Strathclyde is a beneficiary partner of the GREENS MSCA Doctoral Network.

Our research explores the fascinating world of active matter, from photocatalytic micromotors to biological and biohybrid active systems. We investigate how chemical processes drive motion at the microscale and how active particles behave in complex environments, including microfluidic systems.

Within the GREENS Doctoral Network, our work focuses on the sustainability of microrobots, exploring ways to make these tiny, self-propelled systems more environmentally sustainable. This research connects the principles of active matter with the broader goal of developing more sustainable technologies.
