Carolina completed her secondment at the Swedish Algae Factory

Carolina completed her secondment in Gothenburg from 3rd September to 3rd October, 2026 focused on diatoms and frustules. The first two weeks were at Natrium, where she took classes and worked in the lab. The following two weeks were at the Swedish Algae Factory. There, she did fieldwork, collected diatoms with researchers from the host institution from two rivers. Afterwards, they examined the recovered diatoms under a microscope and isolated the species found.
